I’m a marketer, not a programmer. Everything in this book was built without writing code.
I want to get this out of the way first: I don’t code. I’m not a developer who pivoted to marketing, and I’m not a technical founder who dabbles in content strategy. I’m a marketer. That’s it. SEO, paid search, content, email, analytics. That’s been my world for 20 years.
That matters because the biggest thing stopping most marketers from building with AI isn’t a lack of interest. It’s the assumption that you need to be technical. You don’t. Everything in The Agentic Marketer was built by someone (me) who can’t write Python or JavaScript, and has never deployed anything to a server using a command line.
In 2021, I started experimenting with large language models for marketing tasks. This was before ChatGPT, before most people in marketing had any idea what was coming. Eventually I realized that the real value wasn’t in using AI as a faster content tool. It was in building systems where AI handles entire marketing functions autonomously. And you could build all of it by describing what you wanted in plain English.
That’s the “describe, don’t code” principle at the core of this book. You tell the AI what to build. The AI handles the technical implementation. You make the strategic decisions. If you can write a clear brief for a freelancer, you can build an AI agent.
The Agentic Marketer is the book I wish existed when I started this journey. Written by a marketer, for marketers, with zero assumptions about technical skill.
